Kick not Sleepy After Eating

Sleepiness often come not in time, one of which is the time after eating. This condition can be caused by eating too much. When you consume large amounts of food, blood is diverted to the intestines to digest food. This means, the oxygen that reaches the brain less, causing fatigue and drowsiness.
Besides sleepiness could be due to a temporary change in the pH levels in the blood. Bicarbonate is released to compensate for changes that cause blood pH becomes more alkaline and cause drowsiness. This condition is called "alkaline tide", which occurs when stomach acid is released to digest food.
Some tips that can be done to prevent sleepy after eating are as follows:

Overcoming Sleepy After Eating

One of the keys to overcome sleepiness after eating is not overeating. At breakfast consume foods high in protein. Then, late in the morning, eat a healthy snack and lunch reduce the portion which is usually in large quantities.
Another way to prevent sleepiness is, change the composition of the diet. Choose simple carbohydrates such as potatoes, white rice, or pasta, in moderation. For lunch menu, choose foods that are high in protein, low in carbohydrates, and vegetables. Reduce caffeine consumption also. Although caffeine can keep you awake on a temporary basis, but when the effect expires, the remarkable drowsiness appeared. To replace caffeine, try drinking a glass of green tea at lunch.
Then, another way to prevent sleepiness is, by walking for 10 to 15 minutes after eating. That way you can be awake after eating. Check with your doctor if you are still frequently attacked by drowsiness after eating. Perform a blood test to determine the risk of diabetes or hypothyroidism, which is one of the symptoms is fatigue and sleepiness after eating.
